Pickup Civil ID at PACI Office

PACI OfficeThis has to be one of the easiest things to do related to Ministry processes in Kuwait. I stumbled across this little gem, as the company I work for handles this for us, when the company my wife worked for at the time required her to pick-up her new civil ID herself. If Kuwait implemented the use of technology into the rest of their operation in other areas as with retrieving a civil ID, things would go much more smoothly at the ministries. (hint, hint)

Depending on what company you work for, there may be a need for you to pick-up your new civil ID yourself. Also, if you have dependents, you will need to do this yourself as well. This process is so easy it’s better to do it yourself.

Once you have a completed a process for a new visa or renewing a visa, picking up the civil ID at the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) office is a painless process. Generally it will take no more than 2 weeks for your civil ID to be ready.

PACI has an informative website (link below) that you can use to check the status of you civil ID. You can also call their service number at 1889988 for the status. Once it is ready, it will also show you which kiosk in the PACI center your new civil ID is in. You must go to the kiosk that has you civil ID.

Once you enter the building, you will go to the area on the right where all the blue kiosks labeled, Smart Card Delivery Machine, are located. Find the numbered kiosks that has your new civil ID and insert your old civil ID.

Next you will be prompted to pay the 5KD fee. Insert 5KD cash into the machine in the appropriate slot. After a few seconds your new civil ID will come out of the kiosk.

That is all there is to it! You now have your new civil ID for the year.

The PACI center is located in South Surra, Hawalli, in the Ministries Zone next to block 7. Their office hours are from 7 AM to 1 PM and 2-7:30 PM. Parking is the big dirt area across the street from the PACI center.
